What is a PSSR inspection?
PSSR inspections are a type of inspection that are carried out to make sure that pressure systems and equipment are safe for use, it prevents significant injury from the hazard of stored energy as a result of the failure of a pressure system or one of its components.
What equipment is covered by PSSR?

Pressure vessels that contain compressed gas over 250 bar/ litres capacity falls under PSSR regulations.

Hot water boilers operating at more than 100ºC fall.

Air conditioning plants & refrigeration with combined compressor motors exceeding 25kW.

Plants with steam at any pressure, regardless of size and complexity.

Who is responsible for PSSR inspections?
The duty holder is responsible for compliance under the PSSR regulations. In short, if you own a pressure system at work, or you are a supervisor, you are a 'duty holder' under PSSR.
